Intersections
Vol. 1
2023
Intersections explores ideas of balance, connection, and perception through the artist's performing body in dialogue with geometric form.
Playful gestures of reaching, balancing, and peering unfold within collaged compositions that navigate relationships between physical and pictorial space, surface and depth, and visibility and concealment.
Cuts and slices divide and reconnect the picture plane, making visible the construction of the image while alluding to the visual strategies through which images reveal, conceal, and shape perception. In exposing these processes of image-making, the work considers the ways meaning is constructed and mediated within contemporary visual culture.
Through these acts of construction and performance, Intersections considers how experiences of presence, absence, and connection are negotiated through the images that increasingly shape our understanding of the world.
